Israel’s counter-strike on EU; Won’t allow top official’s visit after criticism

Tensions between the new far-right Netanyahu government and the European Union. Israel has signaled to a top EU official that he is not welcome to visit the country after critical comments about Israeli policies in the West Bank. In an article, EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell equated Israeli victims of Palestinian attacks with militants killed in Israeli army operations. In response, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen asked the European Union not to meddle in its internal matters.
