US President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden will be sentenced on December 4 in the gun case. He has been convicted of making false statements and illegally possessing a gun. In 2018, he was convicted by the Delaware Federal Court for buying a gun by lying. Before buying the gun, he had claimed that he neither uses nor is addicted to illegal drugs. His claim has been proven false in court. US President Biden, who withdrew from his re-election race in July, has said that he will not use his powers to pardon his son or reduce his sentence.
Earlier he was to be sentenced on November 13, but Hunter's lawyers said that they needed more time for adequate preparation. Accepting this request, the court postponed the hearing till December 4. He can be sentenced to up to 25 years in jail in the case. However, being found guilty for the first time, he will either get a very short sentence or will be completely freed.
Sentencing in federal tax case will also take place on December 16
Hunter will also be sentenced in a federal tax case in California on December 16. He pleaded guilty earlier this month. He could face up to 17 years in prison in this case. He could also be fined up to $1.35 million (Rs 11.28 crore).

It was said that when Hunter bought a gun from Colt Cobra Special Store in Delaware in October 2018, he gave false information in the form he filled to buy the gun at that time. He had said at that time that he was not addicted to drugs, whereas it was not so. Along with this, Hunter has also been under investigation for his business dealings. A special council looking into this matter said that a case can be filed against Hunter in Washington or California for not paying taxes on time. There are allegations that Hunter Biden deliberately did not pay income tax. He could not file tax returns of more than 15 lakh dollars on time in 2017 and 2018. He owes more than one lakh dollars on his earnings in these two years.
