Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three -day visit to the Northeast. Today he will attend several programs in Assam and Mizoram. The unit of Assam Rifles in Mizoram will be shifted from Aizawl, which is 15 km from the capital. Shah will participate in this program.
After reaching Jorhat in Assam, Home Minister Shah posted a post on his X handle. In which he told that he will participate in the land transfer ceremony between Assam Rifles and Mizoram government. Additionally, the Burfukan Police Academy of Burfukan in Assam will participate in the inauguration and review the implementation of three new criminal laws in the northeastern states. Also, at the 57th annual conference of All Bodo Students Union, Bodoland will meet his young friends in the regional area. He said that I am keen to participate in programs.

A look at Shah’s program in Assam
Home Minister Shah will inaugurate the state -of -the -art Police Academy before leaving for Mizoram on Saturday morning. Late in the evening, he will return to Guwahati and take a night’s rest at the state guest house at Koinadhara. On Sunday morning, Home Minister will leave for Dotma in Kokrajhar district of Assam to address the 57th annual conference of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU). Shah will return to Guwahati in the afternoon and review the progress of the Indian Justice Code with the Chief Ministers of eight states of the Northeast region. Shah will leave for Delhi on Sunday night.
Security system tight before Shah’s visit
Mizoram Director General of Police (DGP) Anil Shukla said on Friday that security in the state has been tightened before the visit of Home Minister Shah. Security forces have been asked to be vigilant during the Home Minister’s visit. Apart from the state police, additional forces have also been called from the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to keep strict monitoring at major routes and places.
This is Shah’s fourth visit to Mizoram
DGP Shukla said that Home Minister Shah is expected to arrive at Lengpui Airport at around 1.45 pm on Saturday afternoon. He will attend the ceremony of 23 sector headquarters of Assam Rifles in Khatla area at 3 pm. He will then fly to Guwahati. According to officials, this will be Shah’s fourth visit to Mizoram.
The agreement was signed on 23 October 2024
The government of Mizoram and Assam Rifles signed a formal agreement in New Delhi on 23 October last year, in which the establishments of Assam Rifles were to be transferred from the center of Eizol to the Growth. The agreement will be applicable in April this year.
