Bollywood player Akshay Kumar’s much awaited film ‘Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh’ has been released in theaters today. The film has brought an untold story after the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film is slightly different from ‘Kesari’, with no action or war sequence like the first part. ‘The real bounce in the earnings of this film will be seen since Saturday afternoon shows. However, looking at an A-lister actor like Akshay Kumar, the collection of seven to eight crores is slightly less on the first day, but this film is not of mass audiences. Its earnings will remain slow but it has a full two weeks. After that ‘Red 2’ will be released on 1 May. Akshay’s previous films have been a little soft, so it has got a slow start but it is expected that it will earn from 35 to 40 crores in the first weekend.

‘Kesari Chapter 2’ is a courtroom drama based on the legal battle after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre on 13 April 1919. The film is inspired by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat’s book ‘The Case That Shuk The Empire’. The story revolves around lawyer C. Shankaran Nair (Akshay Kumar), who fights in court to hold the British government responsible for this massacre. The film also featured Akshay along with R Madhavan and Ananya Pandey in the lead roles.
