Arak Heavy Water Nuclear Reactor is 250 km southwest of Tehran. This helps to cool atomic reactors. It also produces plutonium. It can be used in atomic weapons. This will give Iran another way to make bombs in addition to uranium.
In 2019, Iran started the second circuit of Heavy Water Reactor. At that time Britain was helping re -designing the Arak reactor to limit the amount of plutonium. The Britain was then withdrawn from the project in 2018 following the US Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the US unilaterally from the nuclear deal. The United Nations’ nuclear monitoring organization International Atomic Energy Agency has asked Israel not to attack the Iranian nuclear sites.
