Amid tight security, President Draupadi Murmu reached Dehradun on a three -day visit on Thursday evening. During this time she will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects including President Niketan, President Tapovan.
Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Seni) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed and greeted the President at Jolly Grant Airport on Thursday. The President will visit Dehradun from 19 June to 21 June 2025. After reaching Doon by road from Jolly Grant, President Murmu inaugurated the grand amphitheater in President Niketan. He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of employees’ quarters, stables and barracks.
On June 20, President Murmu will participate in the ceremony to open President Niketan to the general public. On this occasion, she will inaugurate public facilities like Visitor Facilitation Center, Cafeteria and Sovinier Shop. Apart from this, she will inaugurate President Tapovan at Rajpur Road and laying the foundation stone of the President’s Park.
President Niketan and President Tapovan will be opened to the general public from June 24. On the same day, the President will also visit the National Institute for Empowerment of Person with Visual Disability (NIEPVD). Where she will observe an exhibition and model school science lab and communicate with the students. On the occasion of the completion of 125 years of the establishment of Raj Bhavan, Nainital in the evening, memorial will release the postage stamp. On the last day of his visit on 21 June, the President will participate in the mass yoga demonstration held at the Police Line ground on International Yoga Day.
