The space agency said that additional time is needed to continue evaluating the operation of the international space station after a recent repair work in the back of the orbital laboratory service module. The statement of the Axiom Space stated that NASA wants to ensure that the station is ready for members of the additional crew due to issues involved in the space station. The agency is taking the required time to review the data.
When and when the mission was avoided?
The Ex -Space Mission was to be launched on June 19 before postponing the launch of 22 June. Earlier on 11 June, it was prepared for its launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It had to be postponed due to fuel leakage in SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket and then leakage in the Russian section of ISS. Earlier, this 14 -day mission was postponed on 8 and 10 June. The mission was first to be launched on 29 May.

According to ISRO, the AXIOM-4 Mission Launch was first scheduled on May 29, but it was postponed till 8 June due to observation in the Crew Dragon Module. The launch was then deferred till 9 June due to the delay in preparations for Falcon 9 rockets of SpaceX. On June 9, the launch had to be postponed till June 11 due to bad weather.
Meanwhile, during a technical review with Acom and SpaceX on 10 June, ISRO recommended in-Situ repair or replacement and low temperature leakage test before finalizing the launch. On June 11, the launch was re-postponed when engineers discovered a liquid oxygen leakage in the booster of Falcon-9 rocket. Along with this, NASA also discovered leakage in the old Russian module of the international space station. Later, the new date of launch was fixed June 19.
Meanwhile, on June 18, ISRO reported that the teams of Poland and Hungary discussed the Axiom Mission 4’s possible launch timeline in detail with Axiom Space. This was then talked to NASA and SpaceX to assess several parameters. The next possible launch date has been fixed on 22 June 2025 based on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launch rocket, dragon spacecraft status, repair in the Jewjda module of the space station, weather conditions, crew health preparations.
