After the Ahmedabad accident, the DGCA has started action regarding aviation security. The DGCA has ordered AI to remove three of its officers, including the Divisional Vice President, to remove the crew (crew) from all the roles and responsibilities related to the schedule and rostering of the crew.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), in its order on June 20, also asked Air India to initiate disciplinary proceedings against these officials. According to the order of the DGCA, the three officers include a divisional vice president of the airline. The DGCA has asked Air India to report in 10 days.
Negligence in crew scheduling
The DGCA said in its order that despite the lapse in licensing, comfort and innovation requirements, AI was repeatedly negligent by the flight crew (crew) schedule and operation. This negligence was detected during the review of the CAE flight from the ARMS and the change in the crew management system. ARMS (Air Route Management System) is a software platform used by the airline for various operations and management functions. This includes crew rostering and flight plan etc.
The order of the DGCA states that the revelations during the review point to the crew’s schedule, compliance monitoring and failure in internal accountability. Even after negligence, strict disciplinary action was not taken against the responsible officials. Officers have been involved in severe rips including unauthorized and non-non-non-compliance crew pair, compulsory licensing, novelty criteria and time-determination proofalols, failure in inspection. The DGCA warned Air India that strict action would be taken including license suspension and operational restriction for violation of the crew in future.
Show cause notice given to accountable manager
The DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) has issued a show cause notice to the accountable manager of Air India. The notice stated that the accountable manager of Air India operated two flights from Bangalore to London (AL 133) on 16 May 2025 and 17 May 2025. Both of which crossed the 10 -hour fixed flight time limit. The DGCA has asked the officer to respond within seven days why proper enforcement action should not be initiated for violation?
Air India said order implemented
Following the order of DGCA, Air India said that we have accepted the instructions of the DGCA and implemented the order. The company’s Chief Operating Officers will monitor the Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC). Air India is committed to ensuring that security protocols and standard practices are fully followed.

Air India aircraft crashed in Ahmedabad
