Amid growing tension in West Asia, Russia, China and Pakistan have proposed an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The purpose of this proposal is to establish peace in the region and stop any kind of military action. In this proposal, the three countries have demanded that all parties immediately shut down the war and find a resolution of the dispute through negotiations. The move came after the attack on Iran’s nuclear bases from the US, which has made the situation more tense in the entire region.
Meanwhile, the US has appealed to China to explain to Iran that it should not close the hormuz strait. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while making a statement on Sunday, said that if Iran closes this waterway, it could affect the oil supply and trade of the whole world badly. Marco Rubio said, “China has close talks with Iran, and we hope it will help calm the situation.” The US appeal has come at a time when the danger of conflict in the region is continuously increasing.
What is hormuz watercrowded?
This waterway exists between the Gulf of Persia and the Arabian Sea. About 30% of the world’s oil passes through here. If it stops, global oil prices and supply may have a major impact. At the same time, Israel has deepened the danger of global energy crisis by Iran’s threat to stop it continuously amid stress and US attack.
Russia has strongly condemned the attacks carried out by the US on three Iran’s nuclear bases. Describing these attacks as irresponsible, it said that it is a serious violation of international laws. The Russian Foreign Ministry said in further statement that on the basis of any argument, it is completely unacceptable to miss and bomb the land of a sovereign country. Especially when the country has carried out this attack which is a permanent member of the UN Security Council itself.
