The Air India aircraft in Ahmedabad crashed due to fuel supply to both B787-8 Dreamliner. Indian Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) This information has been revealed in the report of. According to the AAIB’s 15 -page preliminary investigation report, the data recorder of the aircraft found that both engines stopped working a few seconds after the flight, as fuel supply was stopped. RAM Air Turbine (RAT) indicated that the power supply in the aircraft was disrupted, which was revealed by CCTV.

Air India said that a preliminary inquiry report issued by the Aircraft Investigation Bureau of Investigation (AAIB) has been received on 12 July 2025. Air India is working closely with stakeholders including regulators. The company will continue to cooperate with progress in investigation with AAIB and other officials.

The aircraft gets complete thrust at the time of takeoff

According to the report, the pilots made efforts to turn on the engine. One engine lasted for a while, but the other could not be operational. The aircraft remained in the air 32 seconds before the accident. The thrust liver of the aircraft was also in a passive state, indicating their malfunction. The aircraft received the entire thrust at the time of takeoff. There was no adulteration in fuel. The flap settings of the aircraft were 5 degrees and gear (below) which is the right position for flight. Although the FFA was advised by FFA regarding the malfunction in the fuel switch, it was not investigated by Air India. The weight of the aircraft was within the fixed limit and there was no dangerous items.

No signs of bird colliding with aircraft

According to the report, no facts have been found that indicates a bird colliding. The weather was also clear, the winds were also light. Both pilots were healthy and had enough flying experience. No evidence of sabotage has been found.

A pilot was heard in the vice recording of the cockpit that why did you turn off the switch? The second pilot says that I did not stop. In such a situation, the big question is how the fuel control switches closed.

So both engines are closed

The engine is fuel or discontinued by the fuel control switch of the cockpit. If both switches are cut off together, the engine stops.
