The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Monday that Moldova has become a 107th member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA). In a post on X, the Ministry of External Affairs said that a recommendation letter was handed over during a meeting with Moldova’s Ambassador Ana Tahan in India on Monday.
Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal wrote in a post on X, ‘Moldova has become a 107th member of the International Solar Alliance. The Republic of Moldova, along with Joint Secretary of International Solar Alliance (Economic Diplomacy) and Depository Head PS Gangadhar in New Delhi, assigned the means of recommendation during Moldova’s Ambassador Ana Tabanaki meeting in India.
International solar alliance started in 2015
The International Solar Alliance is a global initiative, in 2015 by India and France in COP 21 in Paris. It has 124 members and signators. This alliance works closely with governments to improve energy access to energy around the world and promotes solar energy as a permanent change towards the future of clean energy.
Mission of ISA to promote investment in solar energy
The mission of the international solar alliance is to promote investment in solar energy. In addition, the cost of technology and financing is also reduced. It promotes the use of solar energy in agriculture, healthcare, transport and power generation areas. Member countries of ISA are making policies and rules, sharing the best practices, consenting on equal standards and bringing changes.
ISA created new business models for solar power projects
Through this work, ISA has made, tested and implemented new business models for solar power projects. It has advised governments so that they can make their electricity related laws and policies compatible with solar energy. The demand for solar technology has been gathered from many countries and its cost has been reduced. In addition, the ISA has made the solar energy sector safe and attractive for investors, so that more money can be invested in it. Also, training, information and data facilities for solar engineers and policy makers have also been increased.
