A local Hindu organization in Mumbai, while objecting to Maharashtra’s upcoming Marathi film ‘Khalid Ka Shivaji’, has demanded to ban it with the censor board. The Hindu federation in Pune has sent a letter of opposition to the censor board and the film’s makers. The president of the organization Anand Dave said that the film shows Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a secular ruler, which is against his real identity. He made it clear that if this film is not banned, he would protest outside theaters.

Anand Dave has urged all Pune theaters to not show this film. At the same time, he also warned that if this film was shown in rural areas, then he will go there and run an awareness campaign about the correct history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The Hindu federation also claims that history is being distorted through this film. He believes that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj belongs to Hindu and Maratha community and the title like ‘Khalid Ka Shivaji’ is unacceptable for his legacy.
