Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that it is extremely unfortunate that the US has decided to impose additional fees on India for such steps which many other countries are also charging in their national interest. We repeat that these steps are inappropriate, unjust and indiscriminate. India will take all necessary steps to protect its national interests.
He further said that in recent times the US has targeted India’s oil imports from Russia. We have already made our position clear on these issues, including the fact that our imports are based on market factors and are done with the overall purpose of ensuring energy security of 1.4 billion people in India.
It is extramely unfortunate that us chose to impose additional tariffs on India for actions that Several Other Countries are also attached in their own national interest. We reiterate that these actions are unfair, unjustified and unreasonable. India will take all actions… pic.twitter.com/Ecydzqwyx4

India will be charged 25 percent tariff from August 7
From August 7, 25 percent tariffs will be implemented on India. It was announced by Trump on 30 July from the social media platform Social Truth. During this time he further wrote that remember, India is our friend, but in the last few years we have done relatively less business with him because his tariffs are very much. The world is the highest in the world, and it has the most rigorous trade obstacles compared to any country. In addition, he has always bought most of his military equipment from Russia, and with China, it is Russia’s largest energy buyer, at a time when everyone wants Russia to stop murders in Ukraine. This tax was imposed on India earlier by Trump.
25 percent additional tariff announced
At the same time, on August 6, Trump decided to impose 25 percent and additional tariffs on India. He also signed this. Even after this, India has reacted sharply. However, this tariff will not be effectively applied immediately. This additional tariff will be applicable from August 27 after 21 days. The US has imposed this tariff on India to buy oil from Russia at cheap prices. However, India has cited its energy security on this. This decision is believed to be related to the strategic interests of America, which has been taken due to India-Russia energy relations. This decision fears stress in Indo-US trade relations.
