On the day of Rakshabandhan, two soldiers of Punjab have been sacrificed for the country. An encounter is going on between terrorists and soldiers in Akhhal area of Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Two soldiers were sacrificed in the encounter. Both the soldiers are from different districts of Punjab. One of them is Harminder Singh of Mandi Gobindgarh in Fatehgarh Sahib and the other is Preetpal Singh, Lance Nayak of Samrala of Khanna. This is a sad news for Punjab on the day of Rakshabandhan.

Harminder Singh son Jaswant Singh of Badinpur, adjacent to the industrial city of Mandi Gobindgarh in Fatehgarh district, was posted in the Sikh Force Training Regiment. Apart from this, Lance Naik Preetpal Singh son Harbans Singh of Manupur village of Samrala light in Khanna district has also been sacrificed for the country.

According to the information, both the soldiers were martyred during an encounter with terrorists in Alakh area of Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Both are related to Fatehgarh Sahib. Due to this sad news that came on the day of Rakshabandhan, there is an atmosphere of mourning between the two families. Preetpal Singh’s marriage was just 11 months. His wife was expecting Rakshabandhan to celebrate the festival at home. Harminder Singh’s mother and sisters were waiting for his safe return. But nature had something else.
