The Election Commission of India on Sunday described the voter list released by the Congress Rahul Gandhi as a completely wrong and misleading, claiming the address of 30,000 voters to be fake. After the fact check, the Election Commission said that the laws are trying to demolish the process and are trying to confuse more people as much as possible.
The Election Commission wrote on its official X social media, sharing the post of Congress, this statement is completely misleading. If Rahul Gandhi feels that the list being shared by his behalf is really correct, then he should not have any objection to following the legal process. They should send a reply to the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka without delay. The Commission again reiterated that either it should give an affidavit on the issues raised in his press conference or apologize to the country.

The Commission wrote in its post that the Leader of the Opposition now has only two options. First, if he feels that his analysis is correct and his allegations on the Commission are true, then they should give an oath signed under Section 20 (3) (B) of Voter Registration Rules 1960, expressing claims and objections about the voters concerned. Second, if he does not give an affidavit, it will be believed that his information is factually wrong and he is making baseless allegations. For this, they should apologize to the country.
