The month of September is about to end, but the monsoon returning to all the districts of Maharashtra continues to wreak havoc. Mumbai and surrounding districts have been receiving torrential rains since late Saturday night. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released ‘Red Alert’ in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts for Sunday. More than 100 mm of rain has been recorded in many areas. Due to heavy rains, a person was swept away in the river in Thane.
