Maharashtra BJP chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhy on Monday demanded former Chief Minister Uddha Thackeray to cancel his party’s annual Dussehra rally and give that expenditure to the flood victims of Marathwada. Upadhyay alleged that when Thackeray was the Chief Minister, he failed to take action and sat at the house. He said, now the time has come to rectify its mistake.

Many people have been affected by floods in many parts of the state due to heavy rains. Heavy rains often caused havoc in the Marathwada region living in drought.

It is an old tradition for Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena. This year too, he is going to address the Dussehra rally at Shivi Park in Mumbai on October 2. Keshav Upadhyay said that people have lost everything due to floods in Marathwada. Uddhav Thackeray visited the first five districts and expressed condolences to the victims. BJP leaders also said that when Uddhav Thackeray failed to take action and sat at home when he was in power. He said, he can show real concern towards people by canceling the rally and giving funds to the flood victims. Keshav Upadhy also criticized the theme of Dussehra rally this year.

He said that at the time of Bal Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena, this rally used to be the center of ideology. Now it is limited to calling others a traitor and repeating the story of his party being snatched away. He asked why the common worker has to spend lakhs of rupees, while the same things go on in every day. Recently, Thackeray visited five flood affected districts of Marathwada, where he met the affected people and heard their problems.
