Israel is celebrating the second anniversary of that dark day on Tuesday, when on October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists carried out the biggest attack on the country. Two years later, the war is still not over, the destruction in Gaza continues, and many hostages are still held by Hamas. This time the main commemoration ceremony has been organized not by the government, but by the families of the martyrs and hostages. This is a sign that the country is still deeply divided over the policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Many citizens believe that the Netanyahu government is prolonging the war and not taking concrete steps to release the hostages.
