Amidst heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, a 32 seater private bus going from Marotan in Bilaspur to Ghumarwin was hit by heavy rocks and debris from the mountain. In this accident that happened on Tuesday evening, 15 people died on the spot. Brother and sister, two children have been rescued safely. Four members of the family of these children have died in the accident. There were a total of 18 people in the bus. Eight-year-old Rahul, a local resident, is missing. The body of Rahul’s mother Bimala has been recovered.
The accident took place on the banks of Shukra Khad near Bhallu bridge in Barthin. Due to debris falling from the hill, the roof of the private bus got uprooted and fell on the banks of the ravine, while all the debris fell on the passengers sitting in the bus.

According to the police, at 6:30 pm on Tuesday evening, debris suddenly fell from the hill on the bus going from Marotan to Ghumarwin. There was an outcry after the accident. The drivers coming from behind informed the police administration about this. Relief and rescue work is going on at the spot.

People had boarded from Marotan, Barthin and the middle stand.
Police and local people first pulled out Aarushi (10) and Shaurya (8) from the debris and admitted them to Barthi Hospital for treatment. From here he has been referred to AIIMS Bilaspur. People boarded the bus from Marotan, Barthin and intermediate stations.

Most are people returning from jobs and work. The police administration has not stopped the rescue operation yet. NDRF also remained standing on the spot. SP Sandeep Dhawal, SDM Gaurav Chaudhary, Jhanduta MLA Jeet Ram Katwal also visited the spot. After receiving information about the accident, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who had come to conclude Kullu Dussehra, left the program and left for the accident site.

Injured brother-sister’s mother, two cousins and aunt lost their lives
Kamlesh Kumari, mother of injured Aarushi (10) and Shaurya (8) of Fagog village, has also died. Two cousins Naksh and Aarav, who were traveling in the bus with them, and their mother Anjana Kumari also lost their lives. Everyone is shocked by the death of four people from the same family. Anjana Kumari and Kamlesh Kumari’s maternal home is in Gangloh Theh village.
