India defeated West Indies by seven wickets in the second test played in Delhi. India achieved the target of 121 runs for victory by losing three wickets. The match went till the fifth day. India started Tuesday at 63 runs for one wicket and lost the wickets of Sai Sudarshan (39 runs) and captain Shubman Gill (13). KL Rahul scored the 20th half-century of his Test career and remained unbeaten on 58 runs with the help of six fours and two sixes. Dhruv Jurel remained unbeaten after scoring six runs. India won the first test by an innings and 140 runs.
In its first innings, India declared the innings after scoring 518 runs for five wickets. In reply, West Indies’ first innings was reduced to 248 runs. Then India was ahead by 270 runs. In such a situation, India decided to follow on and in response the West Indies team scored 390 runs. West Indies’ total lead was 120 runs and India had a target of 121 runs, which Team India achieved by losing three wickets.
