US launches Minuteman-III ballistic missile after delays | All you need to know

US military test-fired nuclear capable Minuteman-III intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The US military said the ICBM travelled 6,760 km across the Pacific island. They claim that the launch shows the readiness and effectiveness of nuclear deterrence. As per the United States administration, the ICBM test was scheduled earlier but was delayed to avoid escalation of tensions with China over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Taiwan visit on August 2.
