PTI chairman Imran Khan was booked for threatening a judge and two top police officials during a rally on Saturday. A case under Anti-Terrorism Act has been filed against him. In addition to that, Pakistan’s media regulatory authority (PEMRA) has also banned the broadcasting of live speeches of the PTI chief. PEMRA said that only a recorded speech Imran would be permitted to be aired after a delay mechanism to ensure effective monitoring and editorial control. The PEMRA has imposed this ban on all satellite channels in Pakistan hours after Imran Khan vowed to file cases against Islamabad Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General and female magistrate for the arrest and alleged ‘torture’ of his aide Shahbaz Gill.
