China fires rain-generating chemicals into clouds as severe drought wreaks havoc

China is facing its worst ever drought and severe heatwave conditions in decades. Climate Change has resulted in a double whammy, affecting the production of hydropower electricity and increasing energy demands. The unprecedented drought has also almost dried up the Yangtze river, which is Asia’s longest. Now, Chinese authorities have induced artificial rainfall to combat the drought.
