Chinese ‘spy ship’ heads to another port after docking for six days in Sri Lanka

The Chinese ‘spy ship’ that was docking at Sri Lanka’s Hambantota port has finally departed. The missile & satellite tracking ship ‘Yuan Wang 5’ left the port after docking for six days. The Chinese vessel arrived at Hambantota on August 16 despite concerns raised by India & US. ‘Yuan Wang 5’ docked at Hambantota port which has been leased to China for 99 years for ‘replenishment’. According to reports, the ship’s next port call is at China’s Jiang Yin. While China maintained that the ship is for scientific research, the US had said that it is under the command of PLA & capable of tracking satellites & missile launches.
