Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians during a military raid in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank. Palestinian health officials reported that 11 others were injured by the Israeli troops. Israeli troops have carried out several raids on the camP – a known stronghold of militants, in recent months following a string of fatal street attacks in Israel. Human Rights groups accuse Israeli forces of using excessive force in their dealings with the Palestinians but the military contends that by saying it only resorts to force in life-threatening scenarios. In the latest escalation, Israeli forces said they responded with live fire toward two protesters, wounding one who required medical treatment.
