China has vowed to ‘fight to the very end’ to stop Taiwanese independence, stoking the already soaring tensions with the United States over the self-ruled island. In a fiery response to U.S defence secretary Lloyd Austin, Chinese Defence Minister said that no one should ever underestimate the resolve and ability of the Chinese armed forces to safeguard its territorial integrity. Calling the United States a bully, the Chinese defence minister General Wei Fenghe said that Taiwan is Beijing’s internal matter and the Biden administration is trying to hijack support in Asia.
