To crack down on rioters in Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Bill has got the Governor's approval.

During the Gairsain assembly session, the state government had presented a bill for this law, which was implemented as an ordinance. The legislature had sent the bill to the Raj Bhavan for the Governor's approval. Under this law, recovery will be made from those who damage government as well as private properties during strikes, riots, bandhs and agitations.
