US President Donald Trump’s administration plans to expand its travel ban policy, with 36 and citizens of countries to be banned into the US. The list of affected countries includes many African, Caribbean and Central Asian countries.

According to an internal correspondence by the US State Department, this step is being taken to protect the country from national security and foreign terrorists. Earlier this month, Trump issued an order banning the entry of citizens of 12 countries. This correspondence signed by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio mentions a dozen concerns about these 36 countries. The cable states that if these countries do not meet the standards and requirements set within 60 days, their entry of their citizens can be completely or partial ban. The Washington Post first reported this correspondence.

The State Department expressed concern that in some countries governments do not recognize the reliable ways of their citizens. Passport security of some countries is also suspicious. In addition, some countries do not cooperate in withdrawing their citizens who have been ordered to be deported from the US. Citizens from many countries have been staying for longer than the American visa period. Correspondence also states that citizens of some countries have been involved in terrorist activities, anti-Jewish or anti-US activities in the US.
