The police team was attacked by the villagers in Bamon village of Baikunthpur police station area of Gopalganj district. Seven policemen including police sub -inspector Sanjay Kumar were injured in this attack. An attempt was also made to damage the police vehicle. The injured policemen include ASI Shyamdev Singh, Vikrama Ram, Home Guard constable Harendra Singh, Mo Salmagir, Nagendra Singh, Chowkidar Dharamvir Singh and Shambhu Singh. All the injured policemen were admitted to the Community Health Center Baikunthpur for treatment. The injured policemen are undergoing treatment here.

Villagers became furious and attacked
It is said that Laxman Prasad Gupta of Bhagwanpur village of Baikunthpur police station area and Rampravesh Rawat and Rama Rawat of Bamon village were assaulted for the old rivalry of the land. Laxman Prasad Gupta, Bharat Prasad Gupta, Rakesh Kumar and Vishal Kumar were seriously injured in this fight. On receiving information about the incident, the police took the injured to the Community Health Center and later returned to Bamon village to investigate the matter. During the investigation, some villagers became furious and attacked the police team. Police officials and employees were seriously injured in this attack. Police vehicle was also damaged.
In this case, Baikunthpur Police Station Abhishek Kumar said that the attack on the police team is being investigated seriously. The matter has been reported to senior officials and necessary legal action will be taken. No person who attacked the police will be released. Raids are going on in search of the attackers.
