Maharashtra polls: 10 defeated candidates applied for EVM Check; Machines Found Flawless, Says EC – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

10 candidates who lost in the Maharashtra assembly elections held last year demanded investigation and verification of electronic voting machines (EVMs). The Election Commission (EC) said on Thursday that all the machines were found to be completely correct and there was no flaw in them. These candidates had demanded an inquiry into EVM -related ballot unit, control unit and paper trail machine (VVPAT). The investigation was conducted in 10 assembly constituencies and the Commission said that machines were successful in investigation in all cases. No disturbances were found in the count of any VVPAT slip.

The Commission said, this process once again proves that EVMs are completely safe from tampering. In this investigation, 48 ballot units, 31 control units and 31 VVPAT machines were tested, which were used in these 10 assembly constituencies during voting. The authorized engineers of ECIL, a company that manufacture machines, investigated all the machines and certified that she was completely successful in technical tests.

Last year, the Supreme Court approved a new process to increase the transparency of EVMs to overcome the questions raised on the credibility of EVMs. The court accepted the Election Commission’s plan in which the investigation and certification of the software and burn memory of the machines in the event of a dispute. After this, the Election Commission had also decided the process of applying for the candidates for the Bort Memori check of EVMs for the candidates.
