The then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country and come to India after the performance of student organizations and opposition parties on 5 August 2024 last year i.e. in Bangladesh. Three days later, on 8 August 2024, student organizations in the country announced the formation of a new interim government under the leadership of economist Mohammad Yunus. Yunus, who was awarded the Nobel Prize, himself termed the removal of Sheikh Hasina as a new beginning for Bangladesh and said to improve the country immediately and to hold elections as soon as possible.
It has been a year since Sheikh Hasina has moved from power. Many major decisions have also been taken in Bangladesh throughout this period. These include important initiatives related to economy to foreign policy and maintaining law and order. However, if seen at the ground level, Sheikh Hasina came to India in the situation in which the situation left Bangladesh last year, the situation has now become worse than that. Despite the efforts of the government one after the other, the challenges of the Yunus government are increasing from increasing cases of crime to the economic level.
