Disaster rescue and relief works have gained momentum in Dharli in Uttarkashi district. Four Yukada helicopters have flew from Matli to Harshil today on Friday morning. Eight private helicopters including Chinku, MI-17 are engaged in rescue operations. The heavy machinery was rushed to Harshil on Thursday for a rescue operation by Air Force Chinook helicopter. While 657 people stranded from Harshil, Nelang, Matali by helicopter were taken to a safe place.

The Gangotri National Highway damaged in an area of 100 meters near Bhatwadi has been restored for traffic, but 15 km ahead of this is completely demolished. This may take another day to temporarily smooth traffic. Hence air service is the only option for rescue and relief operations.

In addition to two Chinku, two MI-17 from the Air Force, eight helicopters in Ukada are engaged in rescue operations. JCB, Escator, Dojer, Tipper, Generator and other machinery were transported to Chinyalisaur in Uttarkashi via Chinook helicopter. From where they are being sent to Harshil. 2500 dining packets were also sent to Harshil for the affected.

Harshil 274 people from Gangotri, Nalang 19 from Gangotri, Matli 252 from Harshil, Jolly Grant Airport 112 people from Harshil to Jollygrant Airport. Apart from Uttarakhand, 131 from Gujarat, 123 from Maharashtra, 21 from Madhya Pradesh, 12 in Uttar Pradesh, six from Rajasthan, seven from Delhi, five from Assam, five from Karnataka, three from Telangana and one from Punjab.
