The Election Commission (ECI) said on Friday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently repeated an old and tired script in his press conference. In 2018, this work was done by Kamal Nath, who was the chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee at that time. Today, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha is doing this work.
The Commission said, in 2018, Kamal Nath tried to mislead the Supreme Court. To show that some voters’ names are appearing several times, the voter list had presented documents from a private website to prove mistakes. In fact, these mistakes were corrected about four months ago and proof of this was given to the party. On this basis, the surreal PDF format of the voter list was sought. This petition of Kamal Nath was rejected by the Supreme Court. Now in 2025, knowing that the same move will not work in the court, they are trying to mislead people that there are disturbances in the voter list, as the same name is visible in many places. For example, Aditya Srivastava was named in three different states, which has been corrected months ago.

The Election Commission further said that the Supreme Court’s decision in Kamal Nath’s case makes it clear what is the situation regarding the documentary documents by the machine. Repeatedly raise the same issue that Rahul Gandhi does not respect the decisions of the Supreme Court. The law has a special way to object to the voter list and appeal. Instead of following the legal process, he raised a dispute in the media without a solid base.
The Commission said, if the law explains a special process for some work, then the same method should be adopted. Therefore, if Rahul Gandhi trusts his allegations and considers him right, he should sign the manifesto, respecting the law or apologize to the country for the baseless allegations leveled against the Election Commission.
