India’s annual defense production has reached an all-time high of Rs 1,50,590 crore in 2024-25. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said this on Saturday. Defense production has increased by about 18 percent against the previous financial year as against Rs 1.27 lakh crore.
Defense production under PM Modi’s leadership on record high: Rajnath
Singh said that India’s defense production under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached a record high. “Annual defense production in FY 2024-25 has increased to an all-time high of Rs 1,50,590 crore in FY 2024-25,” he said.
90 percent increase in defense production compared to 2019-20
The Defense Minister said in a social media post, “This number shows a strong growth of 18 percent compared to the production of Rs 1.27 lakh crore in the previous financial year and a surprising increase of 90 percent since 2019-20. Then the figure was Rs 79,071 crore.”
Defense Minister said- Success was achieved due to collective efforts of all stakeholders
Union Minister Rajnath Singh said that in achieving this achievement in the field of defense production, the Department of Defense Production and all stakeholders, including public units and private industries of the defense sector. He appreciated the ‘collective efforts’, and described it as a ‘historical achievement’. The Defense Minister said, “Increasing progress in the field of defense production is a clear indication of India’s strong defense industrial basis.”
