Indian BJP MP Nishikant Dubey launched a scathing attack on Pakistan in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). He said Pakistan has violated the UN’s children and armed conflict agenda by targeting schools and children in Afghanistan and India. Dubey said that we strongly condemn that Pakistan is trying to divert the world’s attention from serious atrocities against children in its country, as shown in the Secretary-General’s 2025 report. Additionally, the report also notes attacks by Pakistan on health workers and schools, especially girls’ schools, and incidents of death and injury to children in cross-border shelling and air strikes near the Afghanistan border.

He said that the international community has not forgotten the ruthless and targeted attack carried out by Pakistan-trained terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025, which resulted in the death of 26 innocent civilians. In a balanced and thoughtful response, India exercised its legal right to protect its citizens and conducted surgical strikes on nine terrorist hideouts under Operation Sindoor in May 2025 to bring terrorism organizers and their perpetrators to justice.

Dubey further said, on the contrary, Pakistan deliberately targeted villages on our border, resulting in the death of many civilians, especially children. Pakistan should first look at its policies, stop preaching on the international platform and ensure the safety of children in its own country.
