ASI Sandeep Lather (42) of Rohtak Cyber Cell, who was part of the team that arrested Gunner Sushil Kumar, who was the gunner of ADGP Y Puran Kumar, committed suicide by shooting himself with his service pistol on Tuesday afternoon. A four-page suicide note has been found from the spot. In this note and the video message made earlier, Sandeep described ADGP Puran Kumar as a corrupt officer. Said, Puran Kumar had committed suicide due to fear of arrest in the corruption case.

Sandeep was the only brother among five sisters.
Sandeep Lather, a resident of Julana, Jind, lived with his mother Indravati, wife Santosh and three children (Pratibha, Rupak and Vihaan) in the police quarter located at Sukhpura Chowk, Rohtak. He was the only brother among five sisters. Sandeep had reached the farm of his maternal uncle and former sarpanch Balwan in village Ladhaut, about 10 kilometers away from Rohtak district headquarters, in plain clothes on Tuesday morning. Here at around 1 pm in the room on the first floor, he committed suicide by shooting himself on the temple with a service pistol.

District Collector gave information
Hearing the sound of the gunshot, the District Collector, resident of village Bakhtavpura in Bahraich district of UP, who was working in the fields, came running there. The District Collector said that blood was gushing out from Sandeep’s temple. He immediately informed his boss’s son Ajit by calling him. Ajit informed the police about the incident.

Four page suicide note written before dying
As soon as the news of ASI’s suicide was received, all the officers including SP Surendra Kumar Bhauria reached the spot. Forensic team was also called. The team investigated for about three hours. SP said that a four-page letter was found from the spot. However, further he revealed the subject of the investigation.

ADGP Y Puran Kumar was doing corruption
In the suicide note found by the police, Sandeep Kumar has described his martyrdom in the fight against casteism and corruption as a puzzle. Said, ADGP Y Puran Kumar was doing casteism and corruption ever since he was made IG Rohtak. In the note, calling all the IAS as corrupt, former Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarania has been called an honest officer.
