Sharif govt to appoint Pak army chief’s successor; Lt Gen Faiz Hamid leads race

Pakistan’s army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa is preparing to retire in November 2022. As per Dawn report, Bajwa has communicated that he doesn’t want another term as Pakistan’s army chief. Soon, the Shehbaz Sharif government will begin the process to shortlist Bajwa’s successor and take one of the toughest calls of its tenure. As per Dawn, Lt Gen Faiz Hamid is the frontrunner in the race. In such a scenario, Hindustan Times decodes six top names in the list to become next Pak Army Chief.
