Indian Army’s Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai said that if we talk about Muridke, it is the main terrorist base of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The Indian Air Force strike seen on the screen is from there. It contains before and after pictures, in which some important terrorist hideouts have been targeted and destroyed.
He said that these attacks were carried out in the early hours of the morning of May 7. More than 100 terrorists were killed in these strikes. Apart from this, similar attacks were also carried out in Bahawalpur. He showed before and after satellite photos of the place, in which it can be clearly seen where the rockets and missiles hit.
Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai said that the open nexus between terrorists and the Pakistani Army was clearly visible in these areas. This was seen so clearly that even we were surprised that they did not take any precautions. The pictures themselves tell the whole story.

He said that a terrorist banned by the United Nations was seen offering funeral prayers of the slain terrorists. Not only this, GOC (General Officer Commanding) of four corps of Pakistan Army and many other senior officers also participated in this funeral.
The DGMO said that the problem of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir started in the late 1980s. Since then, more than 28 thousand terrorist incidents have taken place. He said that since the 1990s, more than one lakh people of the minority community were forced to leave the valley, which includes about 60 thousand families. During this entire period, more than 15,000 innocent civilians and more than 3,000 security forces personnel have lost their lives.

He further said that in 2016, there was a barbaric attack on our soldiers, their camps were burnt, in response to which action was taken along the Line of Control (LOC). In 2019, we carried out a precise air strike across the LoC, which was limited to that area only. But this time, the intensity and scope of the incidents that took place were such that it became necessary to respond at the same level.
He further said that the terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 was completely sponsored and carried out with utmost cruelty. He told that terrorists sponsored by Pakistan came from across the LOC and killed 26 innocent tourists. The terrorists identified them, asked about their religion and shot them in front of their family and loved ones. Ghai said, after this attack, some terrorist organizations immediately took responsibility for it by calling it ‘proud’. The Kashmir Resistance Front (KRF) initially claimed responsibility for the attack, but immediately withdrew its statement when it realized that the matter had gone out of its control.
He said that the army knew that it would be mandatory to respond, but the action was not hasty. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) had also said while talking to the media that the Army has been given complete freedom to take action when, how and where. From April 22 to the night of May 6-7, everything happened as per plan. It took time to set goals. Some cautious military deployments were made along the border so that the enemy could be warned. During this time, government agencies and other departments were also coordinating with the army. Final targets were selected from a large number of possible targets. Lieutenant General Ghai said that along with this entire process, an organized and aggressive information war was also carried out, which was an important part of the counter strategy.
